Pretty: check. Female: check (hopefully? Goodness, ‘she’ looked and sounded like one, so there was no doubt about it, really.) Friendly: double-check. He’d officially hit the jackpot, and he hadn’t even been in the accursed place for a day. This was one for the record books. Maybe he could find some sweet-smelling paper and send the others a letter to tell them just how successful he’d become.
Teddie gave the woman a short wave — in the most literal sense, considering his arm was hardly terribly long to begin with — and a bright, glowing grin as he approached. Her offer to help brought a glimmering shine to his eyes and put a spring in his step. Finally, some proper assistance.
“You can call me Teddie, Madame Lynne!” Hm, ‘madame.’ Too far? He’d have to break it in a bit. “I wouldn’t mind knowing where I’m supposed to go. That strange man in the other room didn’t tell me anything useful before he vanished without a trace. How rude.”
Teddie, huh? Like your costume? Cool!
(She KNEW someone with a weirder name than that -looking at you, Yomiel- so she wasn’t too fazed at other odd-sounding names.)
Yeah, the scientists here are all really rude. They don’t really tell anyone in the city much of anything. But you should’a at least gotten a piece of paper saying where your apartment is - the letter and number combo that paper has tells you what sector you’re assigned to ‘stay’ in! So, if you read out your apartment thingy to me, I can take you to that sector’s apartment an d point out anything helpful along the way!
The most important thing for new folks is knowing where their ‘free stay’ place is, right?
